3 Signs Your PC Needs Professional Computer Repair

Whether you depend on your PC for work, school, home use, or any other reason, it is very inconvenient when your computer is not working right. Sometimes there are things you can do at home to correct the problem. In some instances, rebooting the computer can get it working properly again. In other cases, you may have to remove large files to clear your memory space. Even though it's usually less expensive to solve your own PC problems, there are some things you won't be able to fix at home.

Here are three signs your PC needs professional computer repair.

1. Your PC Runs Slower Than Usual

Did your PC use to be really fast? Did it only take seconds for certain websites to load but now it seems to take forever? Or maybe it takes longer than usual to boot up or shut down?

Some of the main reasons your PC is running slower than usual include:

  • Your PC does not have the latest system updates
  • You have too many programs running at the same time
  • Your PC is too far away from the router

If you have fixed the above problems and your computer still runs slower than usual, it may be time for professional computer repair.

2. You See a Blue Screen on Your PC

Some people refer to the blue screen on their PC as the blue screen of death (BSoD). Even though BSoD sounds drastic, it doesn't necessarily mean your PC is in danger of completely crashing.

Here are some reasons you see a blue screen on your PC:

  • Your PC has a virus or malware
  • Your PC contains an incompatible program file
  • Your PC has loose hardware components

If you see a blue screen on a regular basis and you're not sure why, your PC is most likely in need of professional computer repair.

3. Your PC Freezes

It's always frustrating when your PC freezes, especially if you lose an unsaved document in the process. When your PC freezes, sometimes the only way to fix it is to hit the power button for several seconds and then try to reboot it. It's normal for a PC to freeze from time to time, but not all the time.

If your PC freezes a lot, it could be due to the following:

  • The CPU is overheating
  • The PC has a software or driver error
  • The PC has a virus

If the above problems are resolved and your PC continues to freeze, professional computer repair is probably the next step.
